Youth Division Rules
For safety reasons once a correct position for an arm lock or
choke has been achieved, the referee will immediately stop the fight without
waiting for the lock to be applied fully. This allows young competitors to learn the
basics of submission grappling in a safe environment.
Our goal is to make sure that every competitor has a
positive, fun experience at our grappling tournament. We have made more
divisions and created different expectations in each division to more
appropriately reflect our young athletes age and maturity level.
-
It
is important that youth weights are reported … this will be taken into
consideration when making the youth pools. Our goal is to keep weight
between competitors within 10 - 14 pounds.
-
Coaches
are asked to put a (+) or (-) for intensity on an athlete’s registration
form: (+) signifies that they can go up a division or weight; (-) means that
they can go down a division or weight.
-
NO
twisting leg locks of any kind are allowed.
-
No
foul tactics will be allowed.
